It’s amazing how vibrant the lives inside those slums are, however colourless and an eyesore-like they look from outside. No visible nameplates or house-numbers for homes. Yet everybody knows everybody. Most are industrious, wanting to do something great in life something one doesn’t see in the youth from the sophisticated lot. I have been sketching inside the slums of Dharavi the last few days. The concept of community living is something that the rest of the city urbane needs to learn from them. Even the black and white version has similar vibrancy with the textures.
